Hello from new member
Hello from California! I just joined and thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm self-taught and have been stitching on and off for twenty years. Since I don't know anyone near me who stitches, I thought it would be nice to join an online community of stitchers.
Having been a longtime lurker before finally deciding to join, I can't emphasize how much I've learned through reading this forum. It's also inspiring to see everyone's projects--I can't get over the range of projects you can find online now. Looking forward to learning more and seeing everyone's projects take shape

Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I'm glad that you have stopped lurking and joined us! I hope you will post pictures of your projects (and you must know how much we love pictures!). Many of us (myself for one) joined the forum because we didn't know other stitchers, and now have a worldwide number of friends. What types of projects do you like to stitch? Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I also joined because I know no one who stitches - I sure do now, though. I hope you'll share pics of your work with us - what type(s) of designs do you like?
And I'm a former Californian - six years ago I moved to Colorado.

And a soggy welcome from the West of Scotland! Glad you decided to de-lurk. Since you've been mooching about, I trust you'll have found the Stash & Grab plus all the little extras that make the forum fun. Don't forget this is our tenth anniversary, so we hope you'll contribute to the Anniversary Gallery in due course.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
My favorite things to stitch are Christmas designs, birds, and ocean/seashore themed designs. Up until now, I've only stitched from kits, but I found some ocean life patterns from Artecy and can't wait to start on one of those. I've never worked a chart that was separated into pages, but I think it will be easier to manage than the huge charts that come with the kits, as long as I manage to get the pages in the right order.
Pictures will be coming. I have to sort out some technical issues with older pictures, and my most recent finishes haven't been pressed or photographed yet. That's a bad habit of mine, I'm so excited to start a new project that I neglect to completely finish the old one

hello
Hi everyone my name is Doreen and I am from Somerset in UK. I have just retired after 40 years as a midwife. So I have plenty of time on my hands. So there is no excuse that I cannot spend time cross stitching.
I have always loved doing crafts but cross stitching in up on the top of the list. I look forward to seeing the picture come alive. I haven't started any projects for years but that's going to change. I would like to do a large project I was looking at Heaven and Earth Designs. I am tempted.
I am really looking forward to talking about cross stitching non of my family know any about the the art. So it will be a pleasant experience talking and seeing other members work.
Looking forward to the next chapter of my cross stitching life.
Bye for now
Doreen
