Hello from a Newbie to the forum :D

Post by Purple Patsy »

I just found and joined this forum yesterday (well more accurately overnight while I couldn't sleep) and have been having a wee look around.

I thought I'd make an introduction as my first post.

I'm Purple Patsy, I'm from Central Scotland and I'm a craftaholic.

I've had a go at lots of crafts and got really into most of them, hence my house is full to overflowing with craft supplies, but my main go to craft is still cross stitch, well at the moment anyway. :D

I've also done traditional embroidery, crewel work, tapestry, knitting and bobbin lace to name but a few more.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all in due course. :D

 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! Anytime is a good time to join our forum and a good place to go to when you can't sleep. I woke up way too early this morning. ( I think some very bright lightening woke me) and couldn't go back to sleep so here I am.
One of the great things about the forum is that we cross so many time zones that there is often someone awake and looking around. Many of us do several crafts and we have a place for you to show us them also in ourAll Other Crafts section. What types of projects do you like to stitch?

I've done a variety of stuff from samplers to fantasy designs. I've done a number of wizards and dragons and a few of the Marabilia ladies/queens.
Some blackwork fairies and more recently a samurai warrior and just about finished the cross stitching of the geisha Sagi No Mai but it has soooo much still to do of my least favourite bit....backstitching  There's a fair chance it might find it's way into my UFO bundle when I lose the will to live doing the backstitching and move on to a new exciting project or pick up some of my other WIP's.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum.

Back stitching is not my favorite thing, either, so I tend to do it as I go. It's less overwhelming that way.

I first learned Torchon then Bucks Point then Bedfordshire and finally Honiton which I think might be my favourite due to it's delicacy. I enjoy them all though I've not done any for years.

Do you still make any?

I did that on a Paula Vaughan piece I did (Tea Roses and Romance) I have no idea why I forgot to do it with this one. Grr so much still to do.
