I love thread blending I am currently working on a project where 90% of the colours are blended. it makes plant life look so much more realistic.

By the way sending you a warm welcome from Canada

Welcome to all the newbies.

Don't be shy, now. Get posting! Someone out there must have a WIP older than mine!

My Welcome to All Too

I'd like to welcome all the new members too. This is a very good forum for help, and meeting fellow stitchers. I know you will enjoy it here.

I have a question for Debbie, who is working with blended colours. Is it possible for you to post a picture in the gallery for this piece? I'm really intrigued by your description

I'd really like to see it.

the pattern that i am doing with all the blending is Teresa Wentzler's Woodland Faerie. there are about 70 symbols and 23 are not blended colours so maybe that will help some one

Hi Serinde

How old is your oldest W.I.P. - mine is 13yrs old and it is the only one I have

I must be the most incompetent cross stitcher on this forum

Oh, I doubt that. Anyway time spent doesn't mean incompetence. (My oldest WIP is, as you will have read elsewhere, 30 years old in July.) I started out with crewel work, but couldn't quite get the hang of little, even-sized stitches. (I was young and in a rush.) Counted work was much better, and I enjoyed tapestry. The big WIP is the last one I started, because I then discovered cross-stitch. And now designers have combined cross stitch and counted thread stitches of all sorts, so new horizons are open for texture.

We all share a wonderful craft. No, not incompetence at all.
