2016 Stashmas Wish Lists

Post by rcperryls »

Once you sign up for Stashmas, this is where you will post your wish lists. Remember sign-ups close Friday, September 30th at midnight (GMT) time and wish lists need to be posted by that time as well. You can edit wish lists up until that time.
If you've posted your wish list in the sign up thread, please repost in this thread so it's easier for your sender to find it here.

Oh, dear. The truth is, I am already SABLE-d out with stitching stuff, and doing a good job on the same with weaving. But, as they say, there's always room for Jello. So:

Likes:
Interesting threads (Holy Grail? Londonderry linen thread sizes 50/3 and 80/3.)
Interesting shaped beads or bits
#3 Pearl cottons (don't have any, and suspect they might be fun for weaving, being that bit thicker albeit slippy)
36ct plain fabric -- scraps will do -- for hardanger experiments

Have lots of:
Most fabrics and DMC, Anchor threads

Not partial to
Disney or overtly religious

Like Serinde and many others here I could probably stitch from stash for the next few decades at least, but it would hardly be in the spirit of Stashmas to say "I don't need anything", would it :-)?

Love:
Treenway's Montano hand-dyed silks: 20/2 (perle #8), fine cord and 8/2 (perle #5) (very extravagant, I know, but a skein or two might work?)

Like:
Hand-dyed/variegated perle #5/#8/#12, e.g Threadworx, Crescent Colours, Cottage Garden
Fabric for surface embroidery (non-count), e.g. Trigger cloth, Rowandean's cotton, Zweigart Normandie

Have lots of:
counted fabric
DMC threads
designs to stitch

Not partial to:
Cartoonish or cute things (love seeing them done by others, but not to do myself :-))

I don't really have any dislikes apart from cutesy designs - like Mabel, I like to see them done by others but not by myself.

I would love some gold plated needles. I have had them before and they made stitching so much easier as they slip through the fabric and don't rust-up if you leave them in a project

Other likes, DMC, evenweave fabric, muted colours and perle threads for my hardanger dabblings.

I am easy to please though and am just happy to be back in the gang and stashmasing again.
2022 is yet another year of the UFO!!
Great Wall of China,
Peacocks and Pheasants,

Well now I have been trying to nut out a bit of a wish list without a lot of success but I will try. :D

It occurred to me that it might be nice to do a Christmas Stocking for my first great grand daughter and I wondered if there is one with

Santa and little animals as a Christmas Stocking
Small designs for cards be they birds, insects, people or scenes.
size 26 needles preferably Piecemakers but not gold ones.

Don't need

Threads, regular or specialist ones including metallic. I have plenty for the next 20 years
fabric
anything Christmasy - could set up a stall with all the charts I have of this special time of year

I am sure I will be delighted with whatever my partner sends me.

Maybe next year stashmas should be a stack exchange rather than buy? I, like so many of you are nearly Sabled out!!

But I love hand dyed evenweaves or linen, silk floss, gold needles, anything interesting really. Charts wise I love real animals, Lizzie*Kate, charting creations, silouete type designs.

I don't need any needle minders/threaders/fobs/counting pins etc as I'm overwhelmed with the ones which haven't passed the CirrusCreations QC!!!

I have a huge stash of DMC, I have everything by Joan Elliott, no Disney or cutesy (again I agree with some others here) nor religious. Or Christmas....

Well I am a fairly new stitcher so I don't have any kind of stash

I would love anything y'all think is interesting or useful. Kits, bits and dodads, different kinds of surfaces to stitch. I've used Aida cloth but looking to maybe branch out, again fairly new and I am just teaching myself so I'm not even sure what all is out there! I would also love any tips, tricks or hints you may have (if its not too much to ask  ) I'm not interested in anything cartoonish or religious, they look lovely but not really my style to stitch.

I'll put my don't need / not my cup of tea list first, as outside of that, I'm open to surprises :)

*I have a lot of Anchor threads, and plenty of DMC threads. Whilst I'll never turn a gift of thread down, I don't need any of the regulars :)
*I'm not wild on cartoony / cute designs (teddy bears, animals with big eyes, rabbits holding balloons - I'm sure you get the idea!)

I like:
Birds, insects, clever use of very few colours / stitches to render recognisable animals / plants.
Lettering & typography
Anatomy
Interesting geometric designs
Historic patterns
Being intrigued!
I lurk on Twitter & Instagram as @inkysloth
My print & calligraphy work is over at http://www.inkysloth.co.uk" target="_blank

WIPs
Geological map of the British Isles
Hand x-Ray
Ongoing string of small rainbow badges
Tessellating Escher-style lizard chair seat.
