Lowry tapestry needs a home

Post by Serinde »

My late MIL was a great tapestry stitcher -- needlepoint to some of you. I have a DMC Lowry tapestry, "Market Scene", unstarted, that was hers. Unfortunately, there is no wool to go with it apart from a few skeins. I'll never stitch it, and I've checked with SIL and Nieces, too.

My question is whether anyone would like to give it a home for Christmas?

I can't offer it a home - I've far too many already waiting but I just wanted to point out you don't need to use tapestry wool. I rarely use tapestry wool on mine ... my favorites are pearls and Appleton wool but you can use anything including regular DMC cotton.

Mystonique, you are totally correct about the fibres, and there is a key on the canvas for DMC colours, too.

Reta, if you want it, it's yours! I can't guarantee I can get to the post office before Monday, but I'll try! Thanks so much for giving this lovely design a home.

My pleasure! The wool that was wrapped up in the canvas was all I could find of the wool that had obviously been bought. I left the receipt attached as this will give you an idea of the number of skeins and hanks you might need if you decide to do it in wools.

Enjoy!
