Thanks for explaining what railroading is. It sounds complicated ! I find that if I stitch half crosses one way then go back and cross them the other way, it keps my stitches neat. I hope to pick up some tips myself as I come back to crosstitching.

I have always handwashed my projects. I think it helps shrink the holes up or brighten the colors or something. Found the book on Ebay brand new for $6.00. It is Country Seasons by June Grigg Designs #18. The patterns were beautiful, there were 12, one for every month, lost the book in a move before I could make any more pictures. So glad to have found it again.
