Re: Micheals

I will be going to Michael's tomorrow. Ou.r local Hobby Lobby has a lot of stuff, good prices, and great coupons and sales. Of course I am a newbie, so what looks like a lot may actually not be a lot! :). They are also building a JoAnne's nearby...which will be a first for us.

Re: Counted vs stamped

Well, after finally jumping in, i have completed one beginner project...which was a bit complicated, but very much a learning experience. I am working on another small project for my mom's birthday in a couple weeks, and have ordered six more patterns. I LOVE all the patterns available out there! Th...

Re: Suggestions for a Newbie!!

Sorry I missed the suggestion about making a copy of the pattern! But, I guess as this is my first project, I can't be too mad at myself. Re: Counted vs stamped

The even stitches is something I struggle with, even with the stamped design. I have a couple of projects I need to finish, then I will take the plunge into a small design, like the one in the "Dummies" kit.

I do love all the options with counted as opposed to stamped.

Re: Counted vs stamped

I'm sure I will run across it somewhere, but how do you grid? Do I need special tools? Must I make a trip to the local craft store...because that would be okay.

Counted vs stamped

I keep seeing it over and over as I read through various threads, that people don't seem to care for stamped cross stitching. As a beginner, the thought of counted stitching is very scary! I want to start counted, so tell me how to make it less intimidating.
