Re: Nicola's Needlework

Franks is adorable! Nice work. Now that my daughter's treat bag is done, I need to get stitching on some card and ornament designs. Can't wait to see more!

Re: Halloween Treat Bag (LastingAllure designs) - update 11

Ok, I just couldn't go to bed without finishing the removal of the waste canvas. So now it's done! Love it!

Re: Halloween Treat Bag (LastingAllure designs) - update 8 O

The stitching part of the Treats bag is complete...now for the tedious task of removing the waste canvas. I have to remind myself to have patience because I can loosen stitches if I pull to hard. Cutting out any extra bits I can seems to help. Second pic is a sneak peak of what it'll look like. Five...

Re: I do not like packing

That's why I start making lists and putting stuff in piles days before I leave on a trip! The lists (to pack & to do before leaving) help me so I don't forget anything whether it's charging cords for the electronics or putting everything together for the bird sitter & dog to go to the boardi...

Re: Halloween Treat Bag (LastingAllure designs) - start 3 Oc

I'm now halfway done with the "Treats" bag! It takes some effort to stitch on the canvas bag and I've stuck my finger with the needle more times than I care to count trying to poke the needle through the fabric. But I can't wait to finish it and strip off the waste canvas to see the final ...

Re: search symbols in PDF?

Dell laptops have a tool like that already built into the computer. It's called "snipping tool" and just like you said, it'll take a section of whatever is showing on your screen (you select size of the square or rectangle) and it saves as a jpeg I think. I use it all the time and love it.

Re: Perftangel's SAL - 10/3 update!

Love love love your ornaments and the finishes! I've done a couple pillow ornaments but want to do more and try the flat fold as well. I've got a bunch of pieces waiting to be finished in some way now that my daughter's day care has started again for the school year. I have to pull out that sewing m...

Halloween Treat Bag (LastingAllure design) - Finished 11 Oct

I saw Shannon's (aka LastingAllure on the forum) Halloween alphabet designs in the Nov 2014 issue of WOCS and decided to use it to create a trick-or-treating bag for my daughter. She's only 2 so she may not get much use out of it this year but I hope she loves it and uses it in her years to come. I ...

Re: 2014 Mini Projects

Everyone's mini's look great! Here's one I just finished. This is the Owl Candle Band from the Oct 2014 issue of JCS. I left off one owl on each side to fit my piece of fabric and I used 14 ct aida instead of the perforated paper it called for because I'm going to make a wall hanging or something li...

Re: A New, Free, Chart Making Program

Also, if I chose one of the dithering techniques that has over 100 colors, the program will reduce it to 100 once I select that one to chart, which of course changes the appearance. And FYI - it does take my computer a minute or two to process the changes when I select a different dithering techniqu...

Re: A New, Free, Chart Making Program

Ok...I spent about 40 min playing with this program. I'd say I'm an average person in terms of no special computer or graphic design skills. I have a 5 yr old laptop that runs Windows 7. Here's my experience: After downloading & unzipping the program, I searched the folder full of files for the ...
