Re: PDF's and PC Stitch
No kidding, Tia! I love my PC Stitch Pro. Just started selling my patterns on ecrater.com, but it's sure hard to get people to know where to find me. Been on ebay for quite a number of year, but the seller fees just got a bit toooo much, so I decided to change to ecrater which has no fees and you ca...

Re: PDF's and PC Stitch
Thanks, Teresa! I will try that. I was thinking that if I make a copy of the pattern I want and make that into a PDF, I would still have my original pattern in case I find something I might need to change later. Again, thanks for the info.

You did a wonderful job on your first project. You'll probably find yourself working to to larger projects very soon!

Re: Headache While Doing Cross Stitch
Sounds like you are straining your eyes too much. I've had headaches from squinting to see the stitches, so I went to Walmart and got a pair of reading glasses to magnify the Aida fabric and see the holes better. I also use a high intensity daylight lamp and no more headaches.

Re: Beading advice please
I don't use a hoop or a scroll frame when I stitch; I use a sewing method, so I do the beads as I stitch. I just use a smaller needle so the needle goes through the bead easy enough.

Re: tips for getting started on a large project
I just finished two large projects 16" X 20" each. I never use a hoop or frame. I stitch in a sewing method as if you were sewing in the hem of a dress. I don't like the idea of clamping a hoop over my stitches either. Just keep you left hand first and second fingers under the fabric so yo...

Re: Suggestions for a Newbie!!
When you make a mistake and have to pick out a number of stitches, some colors such as reds and blacks leave a small amount of color residue from the thread on your fabric. I call it "thread lint." I use a piece of cellophane tape and rub it over the fabric, both front and back sides, wher...

Re: Do you cross as you go?
I don't think it makes any difference which method you do as long as you always cross every stitch bottom left to top right and bottom right over to top left. I do it the same as you. After you press your piece every stitch will look nicely even and beautiful.

Re: Question about "knotty" floss...
Hi eveybody! I have found that some of the knotting comes from the fact that as we stitch some of us unknowingly turn the needle a little bit with each stitch. When your thread starts to look a bit like it's starting to curl it's time to dangle your needle. Also, I've noticed that some colors of thr...

Re: how did you start?
Hi! I started cross stitching about 30 some years ago. I started when both my last child started kindergarten. My neighbor took up the hobby and I wanted to learn how to stitch. I love color so this was down my alley. I proceded to some florals and then a bit larger projects. Taught my daughter and ...
