Re: Parking: Is it me, or is the technique REALLY slow?

I really admire all you who park your threads. I finally got my mind wrapped around the technique and did it for a few colors, but 25 different colors in one 10 x 10 was too much. So I stopped the project. :( I couldn't get past the "slowness" of it, either. It seems to me, Richard, that y...

Re: Trying to pick a floor stand

Allyn pointed out an important piece of equipment to your stitching environment ... your chair!!! -lol I had my chair first. It's a swivel with an unattached footstool. The base is circular so the Mark 2 straddles it nicely and I can recline and use the footstool. I just slide the stand from right t...

Re: Trying to pick a floor stand

I use the Mark 2. It was a b'day gift from DH over 3 years ago. I think it is the best floor stand out there. I've used it every day... I use the 30" scroll rods and they are held up on both sides, no problem. (My largest project so far was 18"by15", so the fabric was 24"by21&quo...

Thank you, for these. some of them I'd read before, but most were new. There is so much wisdom there! I cried at the end, it was so beautiful.

Re: Am I the only one who does this?

I love my Bohins and will only buy that brand. They are smooth going in the fabric. The points pierce even aida easily. The eyes are smooth so the floss doesn't shred. I found these things to be important, but others may have found other things to be important. When I was looking for a good needle, ...

Oh dear.

But the thought of 240 colours. It is an 'Experience' with the 118 I'm on.

Regards,

Richard.
I have some days when I can barely manage ten colors. :?
Debby, you are so funny! I agree, tho. Some days I'm glad to get one strand of one color done! :)

Re: My stitchy bug ran away

Richard, your cat was probably thinking, "Mommy's all better now, my work here is done..." and smugly went on his way. Great story!

Coolpenguin, I hope you feel better soon, and stitchy finds his way back home.

Re: No stitching for me for a few days

Oh, no! How awful. Please take care of it, even if you have to see a doctor for pain and to fight infection and maybe to stitch it up.

I used one of those, too. It was advertised to be safe because of the shielded blades. But I don't think so! Hopefully you can get your money back...

Just wanted you to know that you are my inspiration. I've been following this for quite a while and your dedication is amazing. This is truly a labor of love. Re: Working on Big Projects One Page at a Time

I know!!! Me too!. Sometimes, though, what I learn isn't applicable for a while. Then one day, I'm in a jam, and what I see looks like something I read about earlier and the light bulb goes off! "Oh! THAT's what they were talking about!!!" -lol This is also why I like ALL questions. I can'...
