Re: Got a few ?'s
I'm a "returnee" too, and not as experienced as some of the other stitchers on this forum, but here's what works for me: I use the loop method, as it halves the number of trailing threads on the back. Depending on the complexity of the pattern, I try - within reason! - to plan my stitches ...

Re: DMC/Anchor - Do they have a "shelf life"?
Thanks for the advice, everyone! Looks like plastic storage boxes are the way to go. My poor credit card's really going to suffer when I order them all!
Hope you all enjoy the long weekend.

DMC/Anchor - Do they have a "shelf life"?
Hi Everyone, I will soon be buying more than 200 skeins of DMC plain stranded cotton for my upcoming large projects and I wondered how best to store them. For instance, does stranded cotton become brittle or fade over time? I'm planning to keep the skeins, patterns and fabric of each design in a sep...

Re: Frames: Sew or No Sew?
Thanks for the helpful advice, everyone. I think I'll go for sew-on for the larger projects (and keep the back on the outside - thanks for the tip! ) and stick to my clip-on lap frame for smaller projects. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions soon! Lizzie P.S. I tried railroading for the first ...

Re: Frames: Sew or No Sew?
Thanks for the advice, Reta, and especially the useful pics! My frame would be 27" as well, so I now know what I should be looking for!

Frames: Sew or No Sew?
Hi Everyone, I have a number of large designs lined up for which I will need a floorstand over 25" wide. I've had a look at various websites and am not sure whether I should go for the sew-on or no-sew type of rollers. What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of each in relation to fabric te...
