Re: Any help please...

I too use a combination of XXXX and ///// \\\\\\\ depending on how far apart the stitches are and where I want to end up. On my current piece, I have started making a copy of my chart and marking the stitches I have done with a highlighter marker. I am finding I get lost on the chart if I'm not care...

Re: Serinde lives up to her name update 26August17

Lovely weaving, Serinde! This past year I have done some very simple weaving from watching videos. The type using card board to weave phone pouches etc. I started out weaving with sz 10 crochet thread wrapped on a cd jewel case. I did the weaving with a tapestry needle. That was just to get the feel...

Re: Where has everyone gone?

I took a break from stitching after the first of the year as I was wanting to do some thread crochet. Recently I started on my annual hats I crochet for charity so they will be ready for fall. Truth be told, I'm anxious to get back to my stitching. I would like to start on my Christmas card stitchin...

Re: How much time ?

I usually stitch 2-3 hours in the evening with the tv on. I'm retired and have some health issues, so some evenings I'm not really up to stitching. I only do one project at a time unless something special comes up. I also rotate in a crochet project now and then.

Re: For yourself or others....

I stitch because I enjoy it and find it relaxing. I sometimes make Christmas or birthday cards to send to others. I give only to those in my immediate family that I know will like them. About 90% of what I make I press and put away. I eventually plan to put them into a photo album. It is 12x 12 in. ...

You and the opals are both beautiful! I love opals.

That is a great selection of needle threaders. What a thoughtful gift!

Re: Question about Tatting

I'm a little late to the party here! I've tried shuttle tatting. I never progressed beyond the basic knot (such as joining etc.) but it wasn't too difficult. I intend to try again at some point. I do have a little difficulty controlling the thread in my left hand but I have that problem with thread ...

Re: Do you order Cross Stitch Magazines?

I enjoy the British magazines. I generally order the specialty issues directly online. I would have to drive about 10 miles to buy locally. Sometimes Joann's is out of stock when I get there.

I have a mechanical Janome and am very happy with it. I would rather not have computerized but that is just my personal preference.

Re: Mounting stitches to oval or circular bezels?

I've never done this before, but wouldn't you cut the fabric slightly larger but in the same shape as your bezel? I would practice with scrap fabric.
