Re: Storage
Thank you everyone for your lovely stories, tips and advice! :) I have only done kits so far, but want to keep the remaining threads for when I get a bit more adventurous. I like your idea Paul on keeping them in individual bags. I can keep the pattern and picture in it too so I know what the colour...

Re: Storage
I tend to keep the thread cards with all the threads still attached in a big plastic wallet You could also put all your ends in freezer/sandwich bags and organise them by colour etc. I know a lot of people do that. the main thing is finding something that works for you. We can only tell you what we...

Storage
Hi all, I am hoping you can give me some help on storage for my threads. I have done many small cross stitch kits over the years and have now gathered quite a collection of thread. However, they are all different sizes, colours and amounts (mainly really small amounts so no where near enough to pla...

I am from Cornwall and am about to move a bit East so will be even nearer to Devon. Welcome. Hi Liz, Thanks for post and its lovely to hear from so...

Re: Stitching questions
Lots of great advice already! As others have said, often it doesn't matter whether you do things differently as long as all your crosses end up looking the same :-)! Generally I would complete every cross as I go if I'm using variegated threads, but I have done one or two where I stitched in my usu...

Re: Stitching questions
Have you heard of the loop method for starting your thread? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1pGR8kgFqs" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank it only works with solid colors and if you are using an even number of floss strands. best with just 2! but I love it!...

Hi Rach and Welcome from Brisbane Australia. Glad you got some help quickly and I can add nothing more to their suggestions. What are you working on at present? Re: Newbie
I am sure you will get it done Rach. There is a forum thread for ufo's which runs the first week of the month. As I understand it, its to encourage you on that first week of the month to get busy and do more on the ufo. Have a browse or watch the new posts at the start of March. Just tried to look ...

Re: Stitching questions
Thank you so much Carole and Maggie! I feel comfortable the way I do my cross stitches so I will just continue doing it that way. As for the starting and ending of threads, you have both given excellent advice! I will try running them under the last few stitches I've done. I have just done kits up t...

Re: Newbie
Thanks Carole and Hi!
I definitely want to make sure I photo all the work I do so I can look back at what I have achieved and will make sure I post them here for all to see!
My main goal now is to complete my large cross stitch from 10 years ago of a dolphin!

I LOVE cross stitching since I was given my first cross stitch about 10 years ago (It was quite big and still have not finished it yet!) But I have just completed 2 mini cross stitches for gifts to fa...
