Do any of you wonderful stitchers have any advice for washing a piece that has metallic threads in it?

Re: Magnifying glass?
I use the Daylight Flexilens - Mini Clip magnifier. I have to wear prescription glasses for reading, computer work and of course my cross stitch. I don't know how I stitched before I got it but I certainly won't stitch without it now. No more splitting thread when coming up or going down through a h...

Re: two 3/4 stitches together
Thank you so very much for all the helpful information and that link supplied by Serinde was so useful that I printed it off for future reference. I've never heard of "fractional" stitches before and I've been stitching for over 20 years. The pattern I have is not user friendly at all, no ...

two 3/4 stitches together
Good evening. In my pattern I have two different stitches in one stitch square. Do I count them as a 3/4 stitch each and if so, how do I handle the long portion of the stitch, you can't have two in one stitch? I'm puzzled because I've never had two 3/4 stitches together in one stitch square. Using A...

Re: Washing Finished Projects
I always hand wash, in cool water and vinegar, any red floss first, before I use it. I never have to worry about it bleeding after that. I have always hand washed my finished projects with a very small amount of Zero (for colors) in lukewarm water, followed by several rinses in cool water, roll up i...

Re: Margaret Sherry Cross Stitch Pattern
Thank you everyone for the great idea and the link. I shall follow up with the e-bay suggestion. I will of course e-mail the seller to make sure that particular pattern is in that issue before I buy. Thanks again!!! What would you do in this instance? I found a great pattern for a wedding gift, you ...

Re: Margaret Sherry Cross Stitch Pattern
Thank you. That would be the Cross Stitcher magazine? Do you know how I go about getting that issue of the magazine?
Thanks.
Valerie

Re: Margaret Sherry Cross Stitch Pattern
Thank you. To my knowledge, this was a free pattern in a cross stitch magazine that you could use right away.

Margaret Sherry Cross Stitch Pattern
Margaret Sherry has a pattern with, 5 or 6 chickens "sitting" together. There is nothing else on the pattern but the group of colorful chickens, with backstitching in "red". I believe this pattern came from a cross stitch magazine. If anyone has it and would like to share, please...
