Really good looking stitching on the stocking.
I also really appreciate your help with the finishing.
Best wishes

From an old boarder!
Your grandmother was right and your backside is very good.
I am currently using a double pin stitch to anchor. The 16 gauge special embroidery thread from DMC is very smooth so this is great on the 12 count Aida. Hardly visible.

I use pattern keeper app. It costs eight pounds once only fee. It is yours to use across multiple devices and works again if your device breaks. I also have markRUp? I think that is the name On a trial basis. Have not yet splurged out on it. Both of them are the same price. I'm keeping the second ap...

Re: Tutorial—How I finish a Christmas Stocking
Thanks so much for your tutorial. Yes I agree it is a clean look without the piping. I have some plum velvet from Laura Ashley stashed away that will be just the ticket for the backing. Making the bit of braid hanging is great too since it gives us more colour choices!!

Thanks for your two links Serinde.
I will look into them now.
I have finished a few of my own hanging tapestries but I am nervous about these two for obvious reasons. I have never went by the book or any book for that matter being self taught.

Both of these stockings are very good. I would be very interested in how you finish them. Edges, backing, batting material used etc. I have been tasked with the finishing of two church banners for the 375 th year.

https://pin.it/7sm5pU9 Yes I am guilty of this too. This was an old Margot de Paris France kit supplied with the DMC tapestry yarn skeins. But I worked with a basket weave stitch or a backstitch style tent stitch and of course ....ran out.... luckily I had a great stash of old British Anchor! https:...

The lettering on the mug is really good. I have a sizzix die cutting machine called a big shot. But I have never cut vinyl probably hard to get the placement on your curved surface and I would make a Horlicks of it. But otherwise I have used mine for cutting leather to card and paper and I really en...
