I am so sorry it took me so long to return here.
But... it's a finish! After a little more than 2 years the project is done and I am so happy with the result.

Once it is framed, the piece will move to my parents.

The stocking looks amazing. The penguin has such a fun expression and all those bright colours look very festive. You have put a lot of work into it and it shows. Well done!

I'd never heard of Wrendale Designs until I came across your thread recently, but their patterns look great. So realistic, and you have done such a great job on stitching them.

Richard, That is quite a list. In my opinion, points no. 2 (chart overlap) and 5 (ruler) could be useful, but are not a necessity. Lovely! That hoop is perfect for her.

Here also under 3, back over 1 and under 2 most of the time. Sometimes I vary the number of stitches, depending on the fabric and how the piece will be used (framed, pillow case, etc)
I have never tried a pin stitch, but am curious and may give it a try.
