Used to live next to a large pond in which lived an otter who would swim alongside me as I walked down the street. Nothing like an otter to inspire joyfulness.

Fitting piece for our times, Mabel. How long did you work on that, do you think? Saying it's beautifully done is rather an understatement I do believe. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

You just don't do regular stuff, do you? :camera:

Is flour hard to come by where you are? We've been stockpiling a bit because I'm worried it will get that way here... I haven't bought a loaf of bread in over two years I think. And I bake sourdough so I don't need to worry about the yeast supply.

Re: Fox in broad daylight

That's one handsome fox, Poppy. My across the street neighbor has a fox come visit him every morning at 5:30 on the dot for some doggie kibble. They have a very strange voice (the fox, not the neighbor). We would hear this strangled, almost wretching sound while on our nocturnal walks and were quite...

Re: Quick daily posts

All this black stitching is making me a tad crazy. :rain: The little tiny specs of the aida showing through has me reworking stitches and the blackness makes it difficult for me to find the top threads so snagging ensues, leading to frogging, leading to craziness. :silenced: I'm thinking that in the...

:x: We're making Challah, mine cinnamon and hers choc chip. And we're both going to attempt the four-stranded round braid  That's so cool that you and your besty baked together virtually, Mabel. How did it turn out? I made some for the first time a couple weeks back, which was a feat because ...

Re: Quick daily posts

Stitching is like raising children: you start out with a plan, determined to stay on top of each step, but before you know it you're cutting anonymous threads on the back (where did THAT come from?) and your kid has run off to join the circus.

Lordy! It's time for a :choc: (or two).

Re: Quick daily posts

So my K's Creations stitching frame arrived. It was love at first stitch (well, more like 67 stitches). I am still able to recline, but now I have two hands free at all times, oh Joy! @rotfl: Anyway, the webbing on the both dowels was attached at a slight angle, which made attaching the aida cloth r...

The only thing nicer than reading your kind remarks would be to hear them in person! I look at where y'all are located, and realize that I'm missing a bunch of beautiful speaking accents. :telephone:

Re: TA-DAAAAA!!!!

Thanks Podo. Three years can never be wasted, not even the 9 months I spent doing 2/3's of it before starting over. I look at the stitching, and I see my life in there. The laughter, the tears and everything in between. ~S

TA-DAAAAA!!!!

The pillow construction doesn't bear scrutiny (hand sewed with homemade piping -- best viewed in quick glances, through squinted eyes) but on the whole I think it turned out kinda purty. I'm happy it is Finished. :whoop: I call it: Three Year Pillow https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/p477/TheSah...

Re: Quick daily posts

I guess if a printed invoice is accepted that works, but they could be easily modified before printing.

We've been paperless for years, and have had no problem submitting printouts, which I guess can always be verified.

Your doggie is a cutiepie, btw.

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies, as always.

And Steve, just because you're paperless doesn't mean you can't print out a utility bill and present it... although it just hit me that maybe you're off the grid?

Okay, so here's the CS journey I'll be embarking upon as soon as the frame arrives in a week or two, and I've handstitched my last CS into a pillow complete with homemade piping {don't ask}): <img src="https://p0.pikist.com/photos/528/719/butterbur-plant-leaf-autumn-colors-nature.jpg" alt=...

Re: Quick daily posts

Yeah Richard, I see your point. But I wanted to do an intense project without blending, because the more I thought about it, the more i realized that blending threads (for me) would entail a whole other level of organization.. as in magnetic strip with symbols/numbers and pre-threaded needles. I did...
