Re: I finally finished "The Castle"!

Thank you so much everyone! I really am very proud of this one. It was a true test of will to complete! lol I sort of feel like if I can do this with all it's blends and fractionals then I can do anything! :-)

I finally finished "The Castle"!

So I finally figured out the gallery here and uploaded a couple of pieces I've done. The most recent complete is by far the piece I'm most proud of. I started "The Castle" when I was around 16, worked on it for a bit, probably completed about 1/3 and then packed it away in a closet for at ...

Re: Posting Pictures.

Oh I hadn't really looked at the gallery yet (and looks like I couldn't before a certain number of posts anyway). I think that will make things much easier. I will have to explore that a bit.

Shops near Secaucus, NJ

I'll be down in Secaucus for Thanksgiving. Does anyone know of any good shops near by that I can check out? Thanks in advance!

Re: Posting Pictures.

I'd be curious about this as well. I don't use photobucket or the like and am hesitant to sign up to yet another website just to post photos on here. If there's any trick to posting quickly from my phone I'd love to know!

P.S. My boy just turned 2 in September and it's going by way too fast!!!!

Re: Favorite place to get new charts

Allyn, I have definitely been overwhelmed! :-) Luckily I'm rather practical to a fault so I've been able to hold off on actually buying anything yet. However, I've fallen completely head over heels in love with the Mirabilia mermaids! I've already made a list and have been anything but subtle to my ...

Re: Favorite place to get new charts

Thanks everyone for all the great responses!! I'm not looking for any style chart in particular, guess I'm just looking for more variety than I find at the local craft stores. I've heard good things about 123stitch from a few sources so I guess I'll start there but also check out the others mentione...

Re: Favorite place to get new charts

Oh! And a follow up question :-) What are your favorite places to get cloth? What are your favorite ones? I've only ever worked with aida, which is readily available in stores but I'm looking to move onto evenweave/linens and not really sure where to start. I picked up an evenweave in the craft stor...

Favorite place to get new charts

I've mostly worked from books or kits I've bought from craft stores (Joann's, Micheals, AC Moore, etc) or have made my own charts of very small projects that I've spotted online. I also have a few patterns that I've gotten from magazines as well but I was wondering if there was a good online source ...

Re: New Cross Stitcher from Portugal

Ola Catarina! I live in the US but my parents (and whole family, really) immigrated here from Portugal just a couple of years before I was born. I still have a ton of family over there and love visiting. It's been a few years since I was last there and I'm missing it so much! We are Transmontanos, f...

Hello from Connecticut!

Hi everyone! I'm Lily from CT and I have loved cross stitching since I was around 14 or so. I'm 35, an engineer (working part-time since my little one arrived), married with a 2 year old boy and a little girl arriving early February. There was a long stretch right around starting college until about...
