Re: Floss storage in drawers???
Personally for my storage needs I use the following: Plastic bobbins like these that I use after I have started using the thread: https://www.spotlightstores.com/sewing-fabrics/haberdashery/needles/birch-plastic-floss-bobbins/p/BP80126693" target="_blank I wind the thread onto bobbins with...

Re: Advice needed: 16 or 18 count for Artecy pattern?
If it helps, here is an artecy that I've done in 18 count: http://crossstitchforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28122#p646770" target="_blank . I think it's up to you and it also depends on what you can see. i.e. if your vision isn't that great 18 count may not be appropriate for you. I hav...

Re: Advice about gridding
Personally I grid with a red Gutermann Sulky Thread. It is essentially 2 under, 6 above, 2 under. But it ends up being 6 above, and 4 under for all but the start and end of the thread. I also generally mark out the middle line of the project. That way you can count with the warp and weft in the even...

Re: Favorite place to get new charts
Personally I like artecy shop http://artecyshop.com/" target="_blank . I've only bought the PDF files but there is the option to get a printed version. In regards to the printer I bought myself a laser printer as I don't print that often and the ink dries up in the inkjet printers. The pri...

Re: NZ quake/tsunami
The death & damage toll is a testament to the preparedness of NZ. The original quake in NZ is vastly more powerful than hit Italy recently and the huge disparity of damage is an eye-opener. I am so glad there have been so few deaths & injuries, especially to those we know. Looks like NZ sho...

Re: Scroll or Stand Reccomendations
My preference is to use QSnaps. Though I have bought a scroll frame and stand for a larger project as I felt there was too much excess fabric on the QSnaps for me to work on it easily. On the weekend I also made myself a stand to rest my QSnap projects on out of PVC pipes and connectors. Some inspir...

Re: Lighting Help
The last craft fair we had here I bought myself a Rechareable LED Folding Desk Lamp (this type http://www.daylightman.com.au/index.php/lights-and-magnification/rechargeable-led-folding-desk-lamp-detail ), it charges the battery via a micro-usb cable (so the same type of cable your mobile phone proba...

I'm another who has been tempted by this. Though I've banned myself from buying more patterns for the moment as I have other patterns and I have been stitching other non-cross stitch projects...

Re: I have bought another HAED
It's over one on the fabric. If you want to use a different count there is nothing stopping you though! Just find a calculator put in the number of stitches up and down and it will tell you how much you need (keeping in mind border fabric allowance).

Re: The Butterfly Ball - Updated 2016-06-13
lavenderbee - I've already been on the holiday, I was away from Mid April until the first half of May. richard - I agree that taken out of context it would be confusing. This is compounded by the fact that as it is a large picture so not too much is shown. I suspect that the first two pages down are...

Re: The Butterfly Ball - Updated 2016-04-13
I've finished the second page and made a little bit of headway into the 3rd after having 3 weeks or so off going away on holiday. It's much easier to start the page with there being larger chunks of the same colour around the place. Later in the page its all the fiddly bits that are time consuming a...

Re: I'm in trouble again...lol
So, add them to your wish list and go back in a few weeks. If you don't like them that much anymore remove them. Just resist buying until you actually want to start a new project.

Re: HAEDs and all the fabric
I bought myself a tapestry stand with a 40 inch scroll frame which fits my project on there. I found the excess fabric on the Q-Snaps too much for the big projects.

Re: The Butterfly Ball
An update for what I have done over the last month and a bit. I expect it will be a couple of months or so at least before I post an update to this as I will be unable to stitch on it for the next few weeks. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/agent_clone/Cross%20Stitch/the_butterfly_ball_2016041...
