I take an hour of time after the baby is asleep and before I go to bed to watch tv ( honestly I listen more than I watch) and stitch. I figure the Grand Canyon wasn't made in a day and neither will my project. Every bit helps.

I would suggest looking at Christmas stocking kits. There is a wide variety of themes and then you get all the supplies you need.

I would suggest to a newbie to sit under a bright light. At night, when working, it will be the only light I have on. Also, I use a lighted magnifying lens to help read the stitch symbols. Some times, they are so small, it is hard to tell the difference.

I had to stop going to the store around July. I have 6-7 Christmas stocking kits hidden that I haven't been able to make. If I go to the store, I will buy more.

Great photo of the floss by color. I have a two sided plastic box I keep the floss in on paper bobbins. I usually stick with DMC brand floss. I have smaller plastic boxes that are project specific so they are easy to carry. I also have aa magnetic pin box to keep a few needles in each box (along wit...

I stained some white thread with some light black ink. Should I try to hand wash the area or just re-stitch? I haven't tried since I didn't want the stain to run.
