I'm glad to see this one come to life. I've never designed my own rug, but you have certainly piqued my interest. I'd advise starting with a simple design with few colors to start with. A cool background can be achieved by simply using variegated yarn. The project I am working on now has 17 colors....

Thank you, everyone. The hardest part of that alphabet was picking the animals. There's a sad lack of animals that start with U, while some other letters, especially D, had so many that it was hard to pick just one.
