Re: Christmas in July

The first two pictures are all the supplies required to make a variety of cards an decorations. The patterns are in the magazines they came with, which she loaned me but does want back. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/isl_acadian/image_zpsxvkgkeki.jpeg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/i...

Christmas in July

My sister dug out some free kits that came with magazines and gave them to me for my granddaughter. This is seven little kits that include everything. The last picture is pattern only. But it is to be done on plastic canvas and then you can add a hair clip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/isl...

Re: 19Roland19's Stitching - Updated July 15/page 21

This one definitely needs the back-stitching to bring out the details. That weird looking mess on the right side is a thread with the needle pointing into the material, and the shadow of the thread.

Absolutely stunning.

~~~
Whenever I see the title of your thread I see the word "Overlook" and think it's the hotel from Stephen King's novel The Shining. :lol:
Re: 19Roland19's Stitching - Updated July 15/page 21
Beautiful update on this---it will definitely be a treasure, so being a bit late with it seems okay to me!!! :wub: Years ago the grandmother to be had asked me about making some stockings, and asked how much I'd charge. When I told her, she decided not to order any. :lol: So when she reraised the s...
The shower is early in August. This will not be done in time.
I hate stitching white on white. :tantrum: But I love the textured look it is giving this picture.
Re: Sewing machine recommendations
All those stitches is ridiculous. My last machine had six......and I used two of them. I intend to play around a bit with this one. One of the negative reviews I read complained about threading the machine. It is very different from any I've used before, but I watched a video once, and after two att...
Re: Sewing machine recommendations
I decided that a computerized machine was not a wise choice. It would be bottom of the line and just break. So here's my new toy, an early birthday present. :whoop: :whoop: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/isl_acadian/image_zps1cywhepq.jpeg An automatic threader was not on my list of "mus...
Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher
Working a sky area with three shades of blue. I am stitching over two, and I discovered one stitch, the bottom right corner was one hole over (where no thread should have gone through. Pulling it out would have required pulling out quite a bit. Since the stitch beside it was close in shade, I just p...
Re: What are your all time favorite projects?
I have two favourite pieces, but unfortunately no pictures to share. The first was a wedding sampler I designed by hand for my dad. I had told him that any woman he married had to allow us to continue our marathon-length scrabble games. So I designed a scrabble board, stitched over one on 28 ct (I t...
Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher
Not exactly a confession, but didn't know where else to post this. I'm working on a stocking. Some difficulty because some symbols are to close to each other. I've actually had to frog an area because I used a green instead of 211. So, when I started using number 437 and it was exactly the colour be...
Re: Sewing machine recommendations
Currently, Top of my list is a Brother computerized sewing machine. (QS9130)
It does buttonholes, has an alphabet (that could be fun), and a few things specific for quilting.
:applesauce: :applesauce: Great progress on the new stocking! And it looks like you are longing for your Starry Night. A good motivator for sticking with the stocking though I'm sure it is also fun to stitch! Carole :dance: Lol. I thought I had edited the first post, to change the updated date, but...
