Re: Jean Farish America

This answer is so late that you may have already found the chart or have given up! This design is available as a pdf download at etsy.com ... just do a search for the shop "JeanFarish" and you should find it easily. My website "jeanfarish.com" was captured by pirates (I'm not kid...

Re: Hello!!

Hello "LostinFloss" (love the name!) ... you've already touched upon one of the great things about cross stitch ... it can be cute, serious, romantic, sporty, Art Deco, primitive Americana ... and on and on! And it's all good!

My avatar image is close up of a border in "The Hare and the Basket" sampler I designed. My avatar name is just me!

Re: Washing Finished Projects

It's interesting to see all the hints from so many people ... what really amazes me is that there didn't seem to be any disaster stories! A tip that I will add is about the ironing ... both linen and cotton can tolerate a high heat. Like most of the posts, I roll the washed item in a towel to get ou...

Re: Hello from West Sussex

So glad you followed your heart and became a pilot! My 6-year-old granddaughter talks of nothing else but being a pilot when she grows up. Did you fly for personal pleasure before making the career switch? You'll love participating in the forum more than just lurking. Who knows ... you may inspire m...

Re: Hello from North Carolina

To Sally in Brisbane:

The center is the cross cornered cushion stitch. I think I can walk you through it if you want to learn. The rest of the flower motif is cross stitch. It's a detail from my "Hare & the Basket" Sampler. I wrote about that design in my blog today.

Re: Hello from North Carolina

Carole, I like samplers, Americana, whimsical and traditional projects. Other than stamped embroidery when I was a child, and one crewel work project, I have only stitched things that I design. I admire the work of many designers but I come up with ideas faster than I can stitch so I guess my stash ...

Hello from North Carolina

I am so happy to be here! I have been away from the cross stitch community for too long! I retired from teaching social studies about a year ago and now I have time once again to immerse myself in needlework. I'm a little rusty but it's coming back. Currently, I am doing a whitework project with one...
