Re: Rosemary's 2016 progress - Update 16 Dec

I think you are doing the right thing -- I suspect that moving them every day might do more harm than good. But I would take them off if I knew I wasn't going to be working on it for an extended period. Thanks, I agree. I think I will try moving the frame more often too as although I might stitch n...

Rosemary's 2017 Stitching - 22 Mar

Happy New Year everyone! I thought I'd post the current status of my WIPs to have a point of reference (for myself as much as anything else) for this year's stitching: Tree of Life - was hoping to finish this last year but I don't think I touched it once, so it's definitely my focus for the next few...

Absolutely amazing pieces with really interesting stories. I agree with everyone who has suggested consulting the V&A etc.

Re: Don't be fooled by the UK Weather maps!

This week has been particularly bad for forecasting in Europe. On Monday the forecast for one Paris airport was clear skies whilst the other one, 20 miles away, was for snow. We landed at the first in dense fog. Yesterday the forecast for Madrid was scattered cloud, updated actual weather as we depa...

That's looking wonderful. It's amazing how "wrong" colours can blend into a picture.

Re: Rosemary's 2016 progress - Update 16 Dec

I suspect the marks will ease with a gentle wash and iron once the whole thing is finished. In the meantime, it might be an idea to take it off the q-snap if you know you'll not get back to it for a week? I think they will too; they have in the past on previous work. I do take off the Q-snaps if I'...

Re: Rosemary's 2016 progress - Update 16 Dec

Thanks everyone. :D How beautiful, and all those blues are really relaxing and peaceful! Such lovely soft peaceful colours now 'showing up' and your stitching is lovely and even. A pretty update :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: It does look very benign just now, but the right hand side of the ...

Lovely birds! Known as clockwork toys in my family as that's what they look like scurrying around the water's edge!

Hope you manage to get it finished in time.

Re: Rosemary's 2016 progress - Update 16 Dec

Some progress on the Turquoise Sea. Please excuse the really bad Q-snap marks, I do use a piece of fabric to protect the stitching but this is so dense on the back that the clips are a bit tight. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w484/rjd421/Turquoise%2016-12-16_zps4pt6btjw.jpg I hope everyone has...

Re: Pleasant Row Cottages - UPdate 29th November

Lovely picture. Sorry about the :anotherfrog: visit. Regarding beads, I definitely agree about waiting to the end to decide. Looking at the kit picture I can understand your concern and Sally's French knot suggestion might be a good compromise. Or you could just add as many beads as you're happy wit...
