Oh the luxury of having socks made to ones actual foot size and not someone with feet less than half the size of your own...!
The entire sock stash looks as if it has a green tinge at the moment.

Richard

Re: Quilting?
I always wondered how difficult quilting is. I've tried veneering a chessboard pattern and that needed to be so precise that it was ridiculous. I always felt quilting should be the same - but have never tried. In retrospect, I'm beginning to be glad I've never tried! Your initial freehand results lo...

Re: 2024 Deliveries & Stash Acquisition
 Much easier material to work with, metal. At work we had a machinist who hated wood. His complaint: You couldn't weld a patch on, if you got it wrong, and then carry on as if nothing happened. There was another old designer who always asked 'Do you want it from metal or aluminium?'. Err. Alumi...

Re: 2024 The Smile for Today
I honestly don't know. The lion didn't seem hugely domesticated from the way one of the two kept tapping it on the nose with a stick. Happened too often for me to have felt comfortable in that situation.

Drip [Some, but not all, of the 'Wild Garlic' in the clumps where it's growing in our garden has green flashes on the petals, so could be 'Three Cornered Leek'. But the rest is certainly Wild Garlic. Learn something every day. Apparently Three cornered Leek is considered 'invasive' in the UK. Might ...

[Wild] Garlic
(We have some growing next to our snowflake flowers at the moment. It really shouldn't be happening as the Garlic likes much damper conditions than the Snowflakes.)

Re: 2024 Quick Daily Posts
I do understand what you're saying, but.. It's incredibly useful having a base to drop into when visiting my dad instead of having to book hotel rooms every 6-8 weeks. My gut reaction is that if we could rent out most of it, and keep the extension (which is almost a granny flat except no cooking fac...

Re: 2024 Quick Daily Posts
Saw my brother for the first time in 32 years when I went to see my dad over the weekend. My brother was exactly as he was, and totally different at the same time. He's bigger than I remembered, and now is covered in body builder's muscle and a bodybuilder's tan. His taste in clothes has deteriorate...

Re: 2024 Quick Daily Posts
Sheep. Yes, they can get utterly caked in muck. I will confess I viewed my mum's sheep as the most willfully stupid creatures on the planet. One or two could get through any fence on the farm, but when the rest of the flock didn't follow, they wanted to get back. And could they ever get back in the ...
