Re: Baby knitting

I knitted baby outfits for all 5 of my nieces and nephews in the 1980's but hand-knits just don't seem fashionable nowadays. It's a shame as I loved knitting small things but nobody wants them !

Re: X-treme X-stitch

Some years ago I took a 10 day bus trip in Australia from Sydney to Alice Springs and en route I managed to complete half of a 6 x 6 inch cross stitch on 18 count aida

My eye sight was a lot better then than now !

Re: Anyone in US who can help?

I have the same problem in the UK as well, DMC flosses cost approx. the equivalent of US$ 1.20 EACH  . Luckily I go on holiday to Florida every 2/3 years and I always stock up in Michaels or Joanns. I now have every colour in my stash but it takes me a while to catch up with their new colours...

how to mount black aida

Hi all, I'm looking for some ideas. I'm stitching on black aida for the first time and I don't know how to mount it when finished. I always use adhesive mountboard or foamboard as a backing board when framing light coloured aida items but I can only find those boards in white which is no good for bl...

Re: Butterfly Gold Dimensions

My mum (85) spent most of last year on this kit, but in the end she got sick of it and asked me to finish it  I did the background shading and all the top stitch - phew was I pleased when I eventually finished it :applesauce: ! It looks beautiful and is waiting to be washed and framed. Anyone t...

Re: Cleaning wooden hoops?

I got so fed up with this problem  that I bought good quality plastic ones which are easily washed. I've still got the pile of wooden hoops if anyone would like them (free).

Re: Looking for disney charts

May I piggy-back on this thread and ask if anyone knows where I could buy either the kit or chart for the Stoney Creek Cinderella Castle cross stitch please. I have looked on many websites but no luck, I hope it hasn't been discontinued.

Many thanks and fingers crossed.

Wow! what a selection of crafts! I like them all, but my favourite has to be the last picture of a cat. It looks very much like my cat Eric. :kitty:

I love the little baby girl in the pink hat! She will treasure it when she's older. Well done, all your photos are very professional but obviously you have put a lot of thought and love into them.

I can't believe how beautiful your cakes are. They look very professional but have obviously been made with love for your friends and family. You are very gifted.

Re: Another SAL....?

No, really, I won't start another one :-) -- when the Garden Sampler gets started I'll have three plus other WIPS, so another SAL is the last thing I need. But this one in one shade plus gold is very tempting, judging by the first two parts (which I've downloaded). Question is, what do you do with ...

Daylight lamp

I want one of these (a floor lamp) but can't justify the cost! B&Q sell blue "daylight" bulbs but I don't know if they are the same thing and would give me real daylight if I fitted it into my ordinary floor lamp. Has anyone done this? Do you think it would work? Thanks Linda  :i...

where to start stitching ??

Hi, this is my first question on this forum so please be gentle with me! I've been stitching for many years and I was taught to start in the centre of the pattern/fabric and work outwards. This has always worked fine for me, but I have read on various forums that most people start on the top edge, l...

Re: Our "other" STASH!

I've got x stitch, card making, scrapbooking, beading, stamping, stencilling, drawing, painting, picture framing and jigsaw stashes, way too much to complete in my life time! My trouble is that I am a magpie, attracted to anything shiny, plus I love colours. At the moment i am also "looking aft...

Hello from a new girl

Hi everyone, my name is Linda and I live in Essex, England. I have been stitching for 20+ years and have a very large trunk full of stash waiting to be tackled! I can't stop myself buying more!
