Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

ok I have two more, then I'll stop posting... Talking about chocolate....well, I doubt I'll EVER stitch a piece w/out some smudge of chocolate somewhere (although always, thankfully, outside the stitched viewed area) I very recently upgraded to first class on a domestic flight that was full in coach...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

I have a deep confession, and I may need chocolate after I air it. :::sighs::: I hate my stash. Okay, not ALL of it; just most of it. Years (and years) ago when everything was new and exciting and I had lots of disposable income, I spent ALOT of money on impulse buys. If I saw a chart that caught m...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

I think I'm developing more bad habits by reading this thread. I never thought of just stitching the right color over the top of one that's wrong. :? Ha ha ha same here!! Never done that before reading it here :D So now I can add to my list that I'm a bad influence on others.

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher

--I am badly disorganized and often lose thread and always seem to end up ordering 2 kits to get 1 of them completed. --Along the same lines, I don't even keep all my cross stitch finished works yet to be framed/WIP together, and not even with their threads or patterns. Always a lovely time finding ...

Re: TW Camelot Sampler- 15 May update

Oh my gosh this is going to be sooooooo gorgeous. I have looked at TW patterns from time to time but never could decide on one..I knew they were intricate but I didn't know how much. Good call on the border! I'll keep coming back to look at pictures. do you have a link to The Guardian, which you sai...

Re: Thea Gouverneur Help Please

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Yes I'm very glad it's done and I think my fingers are too. :) I guess cross stitching is a good remedy for being too much of a perfectionist. Every time I sit down to do a piece, I think I'm going to make it as perfect as can be and then get dismayed at the numbe...

Re: Thea Gouverneur Help Please

Finished!!! have a little hole (or two) in the linen to repair...I'm not totally impressed with the linen quality in the kit, but I think The Gouverneur is an amazing designer. I'm amazed at the illusion of depth she creates, especially in St. Paul's. Took me 5 months to the day to finish. But that ...

Re: Thea Gouverneur Help Please

the blended colours idea is a good one, but I've double checked the pattern and ...nope. I guess I just got a package which somoene forgot to complete. In any case, I''ve emailed both the designer and the the supplier. I hope the supplier will send me a replacement card for the incomplete one. I als...

Re: Thea Gouverneur Help Please

Hello, thanks for the prompt reply! Yes, it is London and with the white Aida background. I just logged in to say that the it seems the extra hanks actually match symbols with colours --- just extra colours of those that have more than a few threads, so they should be fine. But the 15 extra holes ar...

Thea Gouverneur Help Please

Hello, I have just received Thea Gouverneur's London kit in the mail. I did not realize no floss numbers are included in her kits..but now I do. I face three problems with this: 1) card #3 has the bottom 15 slots......empty, no floss! But I do see the symbols on the chart 2) I have two 'extra bunche...
