Hi all
Just a quick update: I received my order from Gvellostitch.com and am absolutely delighted. It came well wrapped and arrived very quickly from Canada. And I paid more than £25 less than the lowest UK price. Will definitely be ordering from them again...

Re: Review sites you've ordered from
This is less of a review (I will write one, once I've received my item though...) and more of a query: Did anybody here ever order anything from a Canadian Cross Stitch site called "Gvello.com"? I just did last night... guilty pleasure... because I saw this "Oak Grove" Cross Stit...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher
I understand perfectly well... Hehe, so good to know that I am not alone with this...My girlfriend and I used to call this "fondling" our stash. It feels good. Yeah, I know that sounds weird, but I know you all get it.

Re: Mouldy cross stitch kit...
Wow, thanks to all of you, that's a lot of great advice :applesauce: :D  I will definitely try the "drying in the sun" method. That's really great to know. I just had a last check. The threads almost don't smell anymore and the aida has improved loads as well (I might still give it ...

Mother Earth Dimensions Gold Collection
I am on the hunt for a 1995 cross stitch kit from the Dimensions Gold Collection called "Mother Earth". I would be sooooo happy to be able to add this beautiful kit to my cross stitch collection. It was on Ebay twice some time ago but sadly I was outbid... If anybody has got the kit or kno...

Re: How do you organize your floss?
I wind my floss on bobbins and then sort them by numbers into Hemline bobbin boxes. I have got a complete set of DMC threads in their own boxes and quite a few Anchor threads that have their own boxes. Since I've got quite a few kits I also have leftovers from them. If it is not DMC or Anchor floss ...

Re: Needles
I love Permin gold plated needles, they are not too expensive (I think around £8.50 for 20 of them). They come in a very handy little tube and last for a long time. In fact. I've yet to experience any kind of wearing off of the gold. I also have some gold plated needles from the cross sticher's gui...

Re: Mouldy cross stitch kit...
Thanks for all the good advice, Arianwen :D I've already checked several times on my threads again and they definitely smell much better now so I am pleased with that and I don't think I want to risk getting them completely entangled in the washing machine. I might give the fabric one more day to ai...

Re: Confessions of a Cross Stitcher
I think this must be my favourite topic here, I always check if there's anything new... So I thought it is about time to do some confessing myself lol... 1. I am kind of obsessed with the back of my work. I always try to finish the threads off in a neat way and I like it if the back of my work "...

Re: how did you start?
When I was about 10 years old my school teacher taught us how to cross stitch and we did a first little project ourselves. It was a pencil case and I remember that my grandma put the zip in for me because sewing wasn't my forte (still isn't, but I bought a small sewing machine and want to learn how ...

Am I still sane... or how many kits do you own...
Hi there, first of all I want to introduce myself quickly. My name is Astrid and I live in the North-East of the UK. I think I am a bit of a cross stitch fanatic although I only started approximately 1.5 years ago. Not only do I love to stitch but I also seem to have the urge to possess every kit ou...
