Re: Big things have happened in my life!!!
Hi from a fellow Norwegian who just joined the forum and are new to stitching as well. You really moved a long way! I always wanted to go up north, as it looks so beautiful, but so far I havent been more north than Trondheim. Too bad you didnt move closer to me as it would be fun to have a stitching...

Need converting help!
I am looking at cross stitch kits in a Norwegian webstore! But here the sizes are written in counts pr centimeter.
How to convert this? An example is 5,4 counts per cm. How much is that in inches?

Those are awesome! Ancient Egypt is really fascinating, isnt it?
Too bad we cant see the metallics, but I can imagine how great it looks in real life.
What is the size of your project, and how long did you take to finish it?

Re: Waiting for my kits
you have ordered a nice bit of variety should keep you going for a while. I love the deer one thats right up my street! Yeah, the deer was beautiful, and its on 10 count aida, so hopefully it should be easier to stitch. Now the question is what should I do with all of these when I am done with them...

Me too! Seahorses are really magical and elusive creatures.
Hehe , I am not even sure what blackwork is, but it seems to be using a variety of stitches. Have you done any blackwork?

Re: Aida size and kits
Thanks for your reply all. I found my kit online and there it says its 16 count, not 18.
Anyway I have now ordered another kit, which is 10 count, should be easier. I also continued on my current 16 count kit now and it seems like I am starting to get the hang of it.

Measuring it? Good point
It seems to be 18 holes per inch.
I will try and search some more for 11 count kits, couldnt find anything the last time. Thanks for your help!

Aida size and kits
Okay, I have understood now that the aida has different sizes, measured in holes per inch. I think that the kit I have is too small for me. I am not sure what size it is, but probably 14. Is that the most common size? Is it possible for me to buy a piece of aida with bigger amounts between the holes...
